Located in the Middle Ages, the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) and his cat, Azrael, find Smurf village 'village, and pursued them into some woods. The Smurf finally dispersed and Clumsy Smurf (voiced by Anton Yelchin) wanders into the cave "forbidden" and some other Smurf follow.
But Papa Smurf just warned about the grotto where all the Smurf did not have to go into the cave. Since it is also a blue moon, a magical portal in a cave that transports them to the Central Park in New York.
Finally they met a married couple (Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays) and tries to find its way back to their villages before Gargamel find them.
